Features & Capabilities
Explore the pages, interactions, and starting content included in this template.
Music, talks, a dinner, an opening, a screening and a run demonstrate the programme. Replace the fictional content with verified details.
The moving strip complements the accessible event grid. Visitors can pause it, and reduced-motion preferences are respected.
Large images accompany the title, organiser, description, start time and venue address, with a responsive desktop and mobile layout.
A timer counts down to the stated start. The live state lasts for the following hour; ended events disable the RSVP control.
Venue addresses open a Google Maps search. The supplied map is an illustration, not an accurate map of the fictional addresses.
Validate a name and email address and display a demo result. No registration, reservation, database record or email is created.
The menu and RSVP form handle focus and Escape, while a skip link leads to the page content.
Host Grotesk and the event images are served by the site, with smaller image versions for narrow screens.
The event index and six detail pages have individual metadata and event data. Set the final domain and indexing setting to generate the public sitemap.
About this template
Marquee is an event directory template for small cultural programmes and independent organisers. Large typography, paper-coloured backgrounds, dark borders and a lime accent give the programme the feel of a printed poster wall. The opening animation leads into a grid that visitors can browse at their own pace.
Six fictional events demonstrate live music, a design talk, a shared dinner, a gallery opening, an outdoor screening and a social run. Each has its own page with a description of the programme, start time and venue address. Replace the sample programme, dates, organisers, images and venue details before presenting real events.
Best use cases
Independent event series. Keep a season of talks, performances or screenings together, with a separate link for each event.
Galleries and cultural spaces. Present openings and public programmes with room for the artwork, organiser and practical details.
Community organisers. Adapt the index for small gatherings or club activities that benefit from a clear date, place and introduction.
Features
A poster strip and event index. The animated strip introduces the programme while the grid below provides accessible links to every event. Visitors can pause the posters, and reduced-motion preferences are respected.
Six individual event pages. Each page combines a large image with the title, organiser, description, date, time and venue address. The image stays beside the information on larger screens and becomes a banner on phones.
Countdowns with clear timing. Sample dates include an explicit time zone and year. A countdown runs until the start, a live badge covers the first hour after it, and ended events disable the RSVP control. Update the dates and timing rules for your own programme.
Venue information and directions. Address links open a Google Maps search without embedding a map service. The supplied map illustration is decorative; replace it or use your own venue information before launch.
An RSVP demonstration. A modal form validates a name and email address, then displays an explicit preview result. No place is reserved, attendee record saved or message sent. The submit-event link opens an email draft to a sample address that you must replace.
Pages ready to customise for search and sharing. The event index and six event pages build to readable HTML with individual titles, descriptions, sharing images and event data. Set your final domain and enable indexing once the programme is real and complete.
Host Grotesk is hosted locally. Responsive WebP posters, image dimensions and smaller versions for narrow screens reduce unnecessary downloads while preserving the poster layout. The mobile menu and RSVP dialog support keyboard focus and Escape.
