Generated files

Find, preview, download, reuse, or delete the private files Mythos generates for a project.

The Files tab holds downloadable files Mythos creates for you. These are private project deliverables, separate from the pages and assets used by your published site.

Ask for the result you need in plain language. Mythos can create documents, spreadsheets, data exports, charts, images, videos, archives, and other supported outputs. Available output types may change over time, so this page does not treat the examples as a closed list.

Generate a file

Describe the deliverable

In chat, name the content, purpose, and preferred file type. Include the data or constraints the result must follow.

Send the request

Mythos creates the file as part of the request. When delivery succeeds, the new output appears in the project's Files tab.

Review the result

Open Files, search by filename, and select the output. Mythos shows an in-browser preview when that file type supports one.

Use the file

Select Download to save a copy, or Reference in chat to include a supported generated file in a later request.

Example requests:

Create an editable project brief from the requirements above.

Export these orders as a spreadsheet with date, customer, item, and total columns.

Make a bar chart that compares monthly signups and include a downloadable image.

Manage generated files

The Files view groups outputs by type and includes search. Select a file to preview it, download it, reference it in chat, or delete it.

If a later request produces a file with the same name, it replaces the earlier file instead of adding another copy. Each generated file can be up to 25 MiB, and Files keeps the newest 100 generated files for each project.

Generated files vs project files

  • A generated file in Files is a private deliverable. It does not automatically appear on the website or become public when you publish.
  • Website images, styles, and other app assets belong to the project itself and appear in Code.
  • Files attached to a prompt are inputs for that request. They do not appear in Files; see Chat attachments.

To place a generated image, chart, or document on the site, reference it in a new prompt and clearly ask Mythos to add it to the page.

Troubleshooting

The file is not in Files

Confirm that the request completed successfully, then refresh the Files view. An unfinished or failed delivery does not add the output.

Preview is not available

Some file types are download-only. Select Download and open the file in an app that supports it.

I cannot find an older file

A same-name output may have replaced it, or it may have aged out after the project reached 100 generated files.
