Margot Essays

Margot is a personal blog with an author portrait, one featured essay and an archive of thirteen complete articles. Warm cream backgrounds, serif headings and square image cards carry through the homepage and reading pages. Margot is a fictional author; the essays are original sample writing and the photographs are generated.

The template suits writers who want to share more than a social post: an essay, a reading list, notes from their work or a letter to subscribers. Start with the existing layout and make the identity and writing your own.

Who it is for

Personal essayists. Bring a collection of stories together under your own name. The author introduction gives new visitors context, while full article pages leave space for the writing to unfold.

Independent newsletter writers. Keep a public archive alongside an invitation to subscribe. Readers can explore earlier pieces before deciding to receive the next one.

People writing about their work. Publish observations from your field, explain an idea or share what you learned from a project. Individual article links make it easy to send the relevant piece to someone.

Curators and regular correspondents. Turn book recommendations, discoveries or a recurring letter into a publication with its own address and a consistent presentation.

A layout that leads into the writing

An author portrait and a short introduction welcome visitors. One featured essay gives them a starting point, followed by recent writing in two columns and a compact archive. On smaller screens, the grid adapts so images and titles remain easy to browse.

Each article opens on its own page with a cover image, publication date and estimated reading time. The text sits in a comfortable reading column, with related essays and a subscription invitation below. Thirteen complete sample articles show how the publication works before you add your own.

Cormorant Garamond headings pair with Inter body text throughout the site. The warm background, simple borders and square controls carry from the introduction to the footer. Responsive images serve smaller files to smaller screens, and images further down the page load as needed.

Keep in touch with readers

Subscribe, Twitter and Email links sit beneath the introduction. A separate footer column keeps social profiles and contact details close at hand. Replace the example destinations with the channels you use.

The included newsletter form can save subscriber addresses in your own Supabase database once connected through Mythos. It checks addresses and recognises repeat signups. Choose an email service separately for welcome messages and newsletter delivery.

Make Margot yours

1. Select Create your own to open a project in Mythos.
2. Add your name, portrait and introduction. Replace the sample essays and choose the one you want to feature.
3. Describe any changes to the colours or layout, then review the home page and an article in Preview.
4. Update your contact links and connect the newsletter if you want to collect subscribers.
5. Set your final website address, enable search indexing and publish when the content is ready.

Each page includes a title, description and sharing image, with article information for search engines. Articles are edited through the website project and Mythos chat; a separate publishing dashboard is not included.
